Handling asphalt slabs and chunks puts processors in a difficult position: the material needs time-consuming pre-crushing before it can be fed into a crusher. At the same time, recycling asphalt or tar demands gentle, reliable processes that preserve the valuable matrix aggregates.
With the ACR, Crush + Size Technology took on both challenges at once: combining the complex handling of milled material, broken-up asphalt and asphalt slabs with gentle crushing – in a single machine. The goal: processing road reclaim in all its forms – slabs, chunks or milled material – continuously and at high quality, producing a coarse end product below 80 mm.
EFFECIENT AND GENTLE
CRUSHING TECHNOLOGY
Depending on machine size, edge lengths up to 1,200 mm and thicknesses of 400 mm can be processed efficiently. Even with a high proportion of asphalt slabs, the integrated multi roller sizer prevents bridging and actively feeds the slabs toward the pre-crushing roller. Its large-protruding rip teeth break slabs directly into coarse fragments – pre-sized optimally for the integrated secondary roller crusher.
When the feed contains a high proportion of milled material, most of it is already gently processed to target grain size by the multi-roller sizer before reaching the crushing stage. This means the feed material – in all its different forms – can be processed reliably and simultaneously.
Feed material can be loaded directly or via a separate feeding system. The complete unit meters the material flow to downstream conveying equipment.
The gentle crushing process of the ACR produces an end product with minimal increase in fines and sand fractions – achieving the highest possible recycling rate by preserving the valuable aggregate structure.
EFFICIENT DOWN TO 0–8 MM WITH SGC-SAND AND GRIT CRUSHER
For further gentle processing of asphalt granulate in the 0–63/80 mm range, our SGC technology is the ideal next step. In a single pass, grain sizes <22mm, in a closed circuit even <8mm can be produced. Feed grain of 0–63 mm is processed into granulate fractions. Depending on the target grain, coarse gravel with good grain shape is also produced. This processing step uses two rollers – gentle on the material and with minimal increase in fines.
