Crush + Size Technology

HMM Hammer Mill

Efficient Milling

HMM TECHNOLOGY

Feed Size up to 300 mm — Product Size down to < 0.063 mm

The HMM Hammer Mill achieves a very high reduction ratio and high throughput, breaking material down into fine fractions through fast-rotating hammer heads in repeated impact stages. Feed sizes of up to 300 mm can be processed, and Product Sizes down to below 0.063 mm can be achieved. (Feed sizes and final grain size always depend on the material properties and the reduction ratio.)

Low-Maintenance, Vibration-Free Design

PRECISION-BALANCED ROTOR DESIGN

The precisely balanced configuration of opposing hammer arms and hammer heads gives the entire hammer mill smooth, vibration-free operation. The rotor consists of the rotor shaft, rotor discs, hammer arms, and hammer heads.

The hammers are bolted to the shaft and suspended loosely between the discs. The hammer arms are made from high-grade steel and are easy to service, while the hammer heads are wear parts that can be replaced quickly. The grinding walls can be adjusted mechanically or hydraulically to compensate for wear and achieve the desired product size. Built-in inspection doors and a hydraulically foldable housing allow for easy maintenance.

Continuous Multi-Stage Crushing

HOW THE HMM WORKS

Feed material drops vertically into the impact circle of the hammer mill’s fast-rotating hammer heads. The initial impact delivers high crushing performance. The pre-crushed granulate is then thrown onto the upper impact plate for further size reduction, before returning to the hammer heads and, in a third stage, being thrown against the grinding bars.

The rotor’s direction of rotation is reversible, so hammer heads worn on one side can stay in service — extending maintenance intervals and reducing downtime.
